This publication has been produced to provide an approximation of the cultural, social and emotional factors that contribute to the high rates of teenage pregnancy in Latin America.
Plan International and UNICEF hope this report will contribute substantively to the debates and reflections on this important topic that are ongoing in many countries and within regional and sub-regional forums.
It has been produced recognizing that governments and society in general are now becoming more aware of the problem, and are adopting sub regional plans, social policies and launching promising programs.
