Unrecognised sexual abuse and exploitation of children in child, early and forced marriage

ECPAT and Plan International provide an analysis of the relationship between child, early and forced marriage (CEFM) and the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.

The report uses a conceptual framework to explore how CEFM can constitute a form of sexual abuse and exploitation of children as well as a form of commercial exploitation because of the financial gains for adult parties in contracting a union. This is a largely unexplored discussion which the report revives through the use of their Framework for Action.
